Actor Dinesh Phadnis left for his heavenly abode on Tuesday morning. At the age of %7, he breathed his last due to liver damage and battling for his life. He had been put on a ventilator due to his health reasons. He became a household name due to his portrayal of Fredricks in the crime investigation drama CID. One of the longest-running shows, his death has come as a shock to many as fans have taken to social media and shared their condolences.

As reported by the Free Press Journal, Phadnis was critical and kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after he suffered liver damage. It was heavily reported a few days ago that he was admitted to Mumbai Tunga Hospital after suffering a heart attack. The entire cast and crew of CID had even visited him and his family at the hospital. It was later that his co-star Dayanand Shetty, who essayed the role of Daya, dismissed the reports of the actor having a heart attack. During his conversation with Indian Express, Shetty had stated that the doctors were observing the late actor’s health. He had said, “Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalised and on a ventilator, doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack, it is a different treatment and I wouldn’t like to comment on it.” The news of his death has left the entertainment industry devasted. They are taking to their official social media handles to express their grief.

Having made a mark in the audience’s hearts with his humorous role in CID, he also appeared in Asit Kumarr Modi’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in supporting roles and guest appearances. He had also appeared in a few monies one of which is Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh. He also acted in a Marathi movie ‘Bharla Ha Malavat Raktan,’ as a lead hero. Dinesh Phadnis is survived by his family.
